Restoring Oxygen to Our Waters
We are developing biomimetic technology to revitalize aquatic ecosystems, combat hypoxia, and ensure a sustainable future for our oceans through engineering excellence.
The Inspiration
At Oxyfloat, our journey began with a simple but urgent realization: our local coastal ecosystems are gasping for air. As students witnessing first-hand the decline of estuarine health, we felt a profound responsibility to bridge the gap between scientific research and actionable environmental solutions.
We aim to create scalable, sustainable technologies that mimic the elegance of natural systems. By combining biomimetic engineering with circular economy principles, we are developing a future where clean, oxygen-rich water isn't a luxury, but a restored standard for aquatic life everywhere.
The Invisible Crisis Below the Surface
Hypoxia and dead zones are silent threats to our costal ecosystems. When oxygen levels drop, life struggles to survive, creating expanding regions where underwater life cannot breathe.
Hypoxia
Occurs when dissolved oxygen concentrations fall below the level necessary to sustain aquatic life, often due to excess nutrient pollution.
Dead Zones
Vast biological deserts in our oceans and estuaries where oxygen is so low that most marine life either flees or perishes, disrupting entire food chains.
Ecosystem Impact
The decline of biodiversity affects local fisheries, coastal economies, and the overall resilience of aquatic habitats against climate change.

Public Purpose
We believe that real environmental change happens through collective action. Oxyfloat actively partners with local environmental organizations and coastal communities to deploy our technology where it is needed most. From educational outreach in schools to collaborative monitoring with research institutes, we are committed to building a transparent, community-driven approach to water restoration. Together, we are not just monitoring hypoxia—we are fostering a deeper connection between people and their local aquatic ecosystems.
